Costco offers very competitive pricing on all their items, and their Clorox chlorine pool tabs are no different. We’ve all seen chlorine prices more than double over the last several years, so it’s not that these tabs are a super deal, but they are one of the most affordable 3″ tabs on the current market at $5/lbs. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s on the low end of the spectrum.

In regards to the product itself, they do what they’re supposed to do. Cannonball!

PRO TIP | Pick it up in-store. I had mine delivered (for a fee), and found quite a few of the tabs broken into pieces.

Works great! I like everything about it except the container it is in. The lid is terribly hard to open. I don’t know if I just got a dud bucket or what.

I have been using XtraBlue products for many years & would not use any other brand due the results I can count on…though, this shipment arrived smelling of strong chlorine as the shipping box that carried the 40 pound bucket had loose chlorine powder within & as well clinging to the outside of the tabs bucket even though the bucket was securely sealed. The loose powder leakage through the bucket seams was a strong indication of what I would find inside the bucket; …every tab within the bucket was broken +/or shaven down; none were whole. In addition, there was a thick layer of chlorine powder deteriorated from the tabs throughout & in the bottom of the bucket. …The condition of the contents would be similar to as if the bucket was rolled, end for end, down a long hill I did not receive the quality worth of the paid $200+tax ; as these partial tabs will diminish quickly & will not be long lasting as advertised. I can understand that a few tabs could be damaged during handling BUT not as severely as this one was. I opted to keep the shipment due Costco’s price was the best I could find & I can’t guarantee that another shipment would arrive in better shape….extremely disappointing for the high price I paid.

This came covered in chlorine in a smashed up box, powder everywhere. Mind you it weighs 40lbs, and having to return it, wait for the poor UPS guy that had to come pick it up after getting chlorine powder ALL over my clothes taking the thing out of and then back into the box. Costco should have said, keep it, salvage what you can for the inconvenience, but they didn’t. I had to do a return to get my $200 back…it auto defaulted to taking to a UPS store which I had ZERO intention of doing. I had to chat with two different representatives in order to get them to change it to UPS pick up so they could come get it. It sat in front of my garage for several days and then a poor, hot, dripping with sweat UPS man came and had to pick it up. It was a mess, don’t recommend, do not do it. I ignored the reviews!!!!

It’s not that the price was much better but I ordered from here for convenience really. It arrived timely except my only issue is that many of the pucks are broken pieces. Overall not a huge deal cause they are absolutely useable but just a point to mention in case it’s important to someone.

The tablet are not whole….some are in little pieces and in powder form. The pail came in a box which was covered inside and out in white chlorine dust. I should have bought it in store.

The product tablets, at least what was left of them, work great. I’ve been using Xtra Blue for several years in powder form and decided to give the tablets a try. The reason I gave this review 3 stars is because of the condition of the container and the tablets upon arrival. The pail of tablets was loosely placed in a box making it difficult to pick up and carry. The box was had no corners left and was torn and misshapen. It was clear that every person who touched the box dropped it. 30-40% of the tablets were turned to powder and pieces. When I opened the box I got a face full of chlorine saturated dust and spent the next few minutes coughing and hacking. With no way to easily grasp this 40 pound box it is no wonder it came the way it did. I will not order this product online again.

I have been using these for a couple of years as my source of chlorine. I didn’t realize it deposits massive amounts of CYA into the water. The only way to remove the huge buildup of CYA is to drain your pool. Also created copper stains. My bad I should have done more research on these tablets. Only use if you want to raise your CYA levels!
